What can DKK do for you

Defend the values and interests of a dog owner, e.g.

  • that the dogs should be physically and mentally healthy and live long life
  • that the dogs are treated properly - by the breeders and later by their owners
  • that training and upbringing is done in accordance with modern training methods - and not through violence and force
  • that you are allowed to bring your dog everywhere, as long as you show respect and comply with local rules about ban against dogs running loose

Be an interest group for dog owners, so dog owners' interests are presented and defended, if there is an issue about e.g.

  • walking with an unleashed dog in relevant areas
  • keeping a dog in a rental housing
  • allowing dogs in senior houses and nursing homes
  • getting treated professionally and correctly by the authorities

Provide personal benefits, e.g.

  • possible activities and training on all levels with competent, well-educated instructors
  • legal advice in i.a. business matters
  • veterinary advice, e.g. questions about breeding
  • counselling from dog consultants in the case of dog problems and problematic dogs
  • advice about choosing and buying a dog
  • membership offers on books, insurance, gas, hotels and other products and services relevant for dog owners

It is DKK's policy to keep the membership fee so low that the members can recoup by using the membership offers. The membership fee is primarily to cover the expenses in connection with the membership magazine HUNDEN, for information, and counselling and protection of interest - in short, areas that almost everyone uses.
