Purpose

When joining a union, it is always a great idea to check whether or not you identify with the union's purpose.

DKK's purpose

Paragraph 1. The purpose of the club is to create an interest for typical, physically and mentally healthy purebred dogs. Additionally, the purpose of the club is to handle the dog's and the dog owner's common interests in society, including a responsible interaction in the outdoor life.

Paragraph 2. In order to achieve this, the club must i.a. handle the following common and union-related tasks:

a. use a Danish pedigree – a pedigree acknowledged by FCI
b. act on breeding mentally and physically healthy dogs in collaboration with veterinary authorities and other experts
c. promote the welfare of the dog as a pet and as a utility animal
d. organise shows, tests, training of obedience, psychological tests and accounts, as well as other activities for the benefit of both dog and owner, such as educational courses and lectures
e. act on fighting illness and inheritable defects with dogs in collaboration with veterinary authorities and other experts
f. promote responsible activities with dogs
g. educate lecturers, instructors, trainers, consultants and others for the benefits of the dogs and society
h. handle the dog's and the dog owner's interests towards authorities and the public
i. handle other non-profit purposes in relation to dogs
j. publish a member's magasine
k. take part in the founding of and collaboration with breed clubs for the individual breeds
l. collaboration with national and international organisations and authorities
